When I was young, back in elementary school, the teachers taught me that March could arrive with two kinds of weather...A lion (bad weather) or a lamb (nice weather). I suddenly thought of how some Twilight fans keep spouting the phrase "And the lion fell in love with the lamb" what with Edward being the lion, Bella being the lamb, or whatever. I was told that Stephenie Meyer got the inspiration for her Twilight books from a dream she had. I thought maybe she had a dream about springtime, and then thought of the lion/lamb idea.
My grandmother is sick too despite practically being across the world. I guess it's because the weather is suddenly so much warmer and it is springtime. I can hardly remember how cold it was just a month ago. The tulips in my backyard are blooming now, so it is very nice to look out on them while sitting at the dining table. Most of them are red, but one of them is pink. I wanted to take a picture of them but in the afternoon they started closing their petals. I panicked and thought they would be dead tomorrow, but my mom assured me that they just close up for the night and open once more in the morning. I hope she's right, since I want to take a picture before they're gone. (People in California don't seem to grow tulips much, maybe the climate or soil here isn't right for it. In Washington D.C., you'll see tons of tulips, in front of hotels, business buildings, and even planted around statues of Civil War generals. That's all well and good, but seeing tulips everywhere makes you get bored of them. It's better over here since not everyone grows tulips.)
Today I went to the library. I had to return a lot of books, so I couldn't resist checking out some new ones. I tried to go to the second floor of the library to tell my parents I was done, but I had trouble getting up the stairs and even dropped my books twice. Luckily they did not fall all the way down, so I could pick them up and keep going. Either my sickness is putting a damper on my health or I really need to see a doctor.
Then my family went to a mall near their offices. My mom bought a shirt from a place called Charlotte Russe (some of the stuff looks alright but some of the stuff is scary. The music is a bit loud. They have shoes you can try on, though). Maybe I won't go shopping for a long time since nowadays I don't even buy anything. Besides, I'm trying to save money. It's not going so well since I can't get hired by Jamba Juice or Target yet, and I only have $12 allowance each month, and most of my teeth have fallen out by now. Oh well, it's better than nothing. I let my money sit and collect dust in real life AND in computer games/web sites.
I would've posted my blog a lot earlier but then something really, really stupid happened. So I started typing this post a pretty long time ago, but I took a break from the computer and went off to do something else. Then I came back and typed the rest of the post. I tried to publish it, but it turned out during the time I was gone Blogger had logged me out. So I had to log back in. And then all my text was gone. I had to spend a long time typing it again. I'm still seething, since this isn't the first time a similar thing happened to me.

This morning, I was curious, so I compared a "kids" book (Emily Windsnap and the Monster from the Deep) and an "adult" book (A Kitzi Camden Mystery: Bead on Trouble). Emily Windsnap had fairly large text, and there was a little bit of space between the lines, much unlike Bead, which had small text squished together. It was readable, to be sure, but my dad seemed to have a little more trouble reading it than the "kids" book. (I guess that's why needs reading glasses now.)
I've been oddly unoccupied lately, just wandering around the house wasting time, or going on the Internet. It's ironic, as I was so busy a few weeks ago what with juggling homework and projects. My parents also seem to have free time. My dad was watching a Chinese movie about warlords and such last night, so he must have time. My mom is working in the kitchen, but her laptop, as usual, is set down next to her so she can watch dramas. I myself had just been watching anime, but I grew bored and decided to go write in my blog.
Our newish converter box is odd, since it takes radio signals as well. So you can actually listen to the radio using the TV. But it's really weird since you can only see a pitch black screen, and the blue bar below it which tells you the channel, time, and so on.
Does anyone know how to fix a ruined DS screen? My old DS (it's not a DS Lite) has had an odd screen for a long time. A certain part near the middle of the bottom screen, well, it doesn't seem sensitive to the touch of the stylus (a stick/pen used to poke the screen). It's probably from overbrushing dogs in Nintendogs (a game where you take care of puppies - take them on walks, put them in contests, etc.). I only wonder if there is some way to fix it, or if I have to continue using my other DS, a black DS Lite. What if that one gets ruined eventually? Then I'll have 3 DS...And my mom would force me to give one to my cousin in France.
...Ah! It's Divine Design! It's one of my favorite interior design shows. The host is Candice Olson, and for me it's on channel 75. That's Home & Garden TV. Maybe it's odd that I like this channel so much, but oh well. XD Last night, I was watching Designed to Sell, in which people who are going to sell their houses redo the house so that it'll fetch a higher price from buyers. '
And then I watched House Hunters International. The featured person(s) will go with a realtor to look at three houses, and then pick which one they want. This time it was in Australia, only 35 minutes drive away from the awesome city of Sydney. It's beautiful if you have a view of a river, lake, or ocean. But it's pretty expensive. Though of course, where I live, houses can sometimes go well over a million, it's still not cheap (Sydney and such suburbs are among the 20 most expensive places to live) as a big house would cost the approximation of 800,000+ US dollars. I'd like to see Australia someday, though.

Yesterday morning, I managed to drag my mother away from her laptop. It's actually not hers, but it's one that my dad got from his office, intended for work, except my mom uses it to watch Asian movies. Normally she gets glued to the screen, so that she doesn't pay much attention to me (which can be good or bad, depending) but I managed to force her into trying some Wii Fit. She doesn't get enough exercise despite insisting that she takes walks with her engineer friends after lunch.
We started off with a bit of jogging. I ran as fast as I could (or more just shuffled my feet very quickly) which made my mom accuse me of cheating. I just shrugged it off and finished in record time. For a few minutes I watched my mom. She jogs really, really slow so it took a while. Then we tried some strength training, since both my mom and I need some toning on our triceps (upper arm). She wants to use the 2 lb weights instead of the 3 lb weights but the 2 lb's are somewhere else. Probably lost, like the majority of my possessions. Then we did some yoga. Kind of like my dad, she can't do the Spinal Twist. Whenever I mention this to my parents they insist it's because of my much younger age.
I spent this morning and afternoon at my mom's office. I was planning to make my blog post there but I got distracted by playing my DS (The game? Harvest Moon DS). I am trying to rescue 60 sprites (little elfish dudes who were sent to another world by magic) so that my game can go on but it's slow work, especially since it's winter. (Funny, since it's winter over here, too.) I can't grow any vegetables or fruits in this lame weather.
Road signs nowadays look very pitiful. One of them was a green rectangular kind sticking over the highway. But the sign was twisted sideways so that it was leaning against tree branches, and a large amount of the hard green part was missing, so that it seemed like someone had mangled it. And then there was this blue sign (kind of like a triangle shape, but not quite) and it said Highway 280 on it. The sign was upside down, though, so it looked like 08Z (a warped z, because it was a 2).
I recently heard from my mom that my grandparents have been reading my blog. I thought this was hard to believe since they don't know that much English, but my mother reminded me that they have a Chinese-English dictionary, and retired people have too much free time (most of them, anyhow). Then my grandparents send me emails, but they're written in Chinese so I just stick them in a folder and forget about them. (Sorry, Gran & Gramps. But I can't read Chinese.)

It's been pouring buckets lately, and I was braindead about what to name my blog post, so there it is.
This morning, my piano class was at 11:15 (weird, because nowadays it's usually 11:30). As always my mother and the piano teacher started off with their strange middle-aged/old lady talk. They talked about how a lot of piano students have been skiing, and how one of the kids was very sick with a cold, yet he was still going to go skiing. Wow. The two older folks, however, kept saying how they don't like camping and things like that (my mom says "So many bugs and dirty ground!") but all the same, a lot of people like to go back in time (y'know? Because sleeping in the "outdoors" and cooking stuff over a fire is basically going how life was a long time ago).
Everyday when I walk home I continue to keep an eye out for the black cat. He, or she (I can't tell the gender of it) doesn't come out if it rained that day, it seems. I guess felines aren't too fond of the wet weather. Most cats, after all, are freaked out by that sensation. Maybe their fur isn't completely waterproof, or they just aren't used to it, or something.
I'm impatiently waiting for more magazines to arrive in the mail. I constantly read the magazines Reader's Digest, National Geographic, and Nintendo Power. I got a new Nintendo Power issue yesterday, but I've read almost all the interesting stuff already (I didn't want to read about an Indiana Jones game) and I haven't seen a new RD lately. I don't know if any new NGs came, either, because they tend to get scattered around the house.
Last night I was reminiscing about not going swimming for several months. I kind of miss it. The last time I went was in late November, swimming in the Venetian hotel pool (that's in Las Vegas). Ever since I stopped my swim lessons, as I don't have much free time for them, I haven't had much chance to go swimming. Oh well...As long as I don't completely forget how to swim, I suppose it'll be okay.
Oh yeah, we bought some Milanos today. It's a kind of cookie of sorts, from the Pepperidge Farm company, whatever that is. There are many flavors - regular, milk chocolate, mint, dark chocolate, double chocolate, black&white, raspberry, and orange. I bought one raspberry and one double chocolate (they're tasty and have less calories). My mom actually likes the raspberry, so that's cool.

Right now I am typing this at my friend Mars/Miyu-chan's house. She didn't want me to use her own computer, so I am currently using her sister's computer. She keeps pressuring me to write in the blog she just made. (Unfortunately I am not yet a part of the blog team, so I decided I would rather just write in my own friendly Kaisoumizu for now). That reminds me...Recently I was wandering about on the Internet and I saw someone called "kai_mizu" or something like that. I was a bit worried because that sounds quite similar to Kaisoumizu. I hope whoever it is doesn't mind.
It's already 4 pm. Time sure flies. I was scheduled to be at my pal's house from 2 pm to 6 pm. We decided not to go to the movies, so we are here rotting our brains out on the computers. Miyu-chan warned me not to use Mozilla Firefox because it makes her computers crash but I eventually got sick of the slowness of Internet Explorer and went for Foxy. And it is working much more effectively, actually, so I'm glad. (By the way, her sister's computer is a Windows Vista, Toshiba brand. So the screens look a little different from what I'm used to since I have always used Windows XP.)
Which reminds me, Miyu-chan's sister's cursor (you know, the pointy arrow thing you use to move around the screen and click on things). It's a peeling banana which is quite amusing to watch. I used to have a cursor back in the day, when my laptop was still young and restless, but my dad removed the program that lets me choose different cursors because my computer had been running out of space. I kind of miss having a custom cursor, but I don't want to install it on my computer and end up with viruses and spyware. So I guess I have to do without.
Let me talk about something else before I bore you to tears. I am celebrating my mom's successful download. She finally managed to install her Skype, so I can chat with her when she has free time at work. Twice she used only a smilie/emoticon for her message and I was creeped out, so I asked her why. She said it was too tiresome to type out a message. I called her lazy, but she annoyed me by saying she wasn't the lazy one, I was...! Hmph, what a rude thing to say, even if it is...true. Somewhat.
I ate a bunch of grapes earlier. I hope Miyu-chan's mom doesn't mind. I know she probably put it out for my sake, but I'm not sure if I was supposed to eat that much, you know? Then I'd look like a glutton, she'd give me too much food next time, I wouldn't finish it, and she might be offended (though she wouldn't say so). Must be very careful with other people's parents. (That's a word of advice! Remember it!)

I don't know, but I'm going to die of mental problems or physical problems. (Seeing as I am now sick due to stress and lack of sleep. It's really grating on my nerves and I've stopped paying attention in school. Also, it makes me have a short temper. And I got kind of rebellious. Today is supposed to be Bring Your Bed to School Day, so you can wear pajamas and bring a stuffed animal. My friend wants me to do it but I was really in a bad mood this morning so I changed my mind...I won't.)
I'm only sleeping a little each night. I fall asleep somewhere between 11 and midnight, then I wake up several times, and this time I couldn't get to sleep when it was 7 am? So I only got about seven hours of sleep total due to my waking up all the time. It's not that much less than what I should sleep, but this has been happening for days, maybe even a week, so I am extremely tired.
Not only that, but my mom is turning into a nag. (Well, she's been back for a week now, but still.) "Sydney, stop moving and go to sleep, idiot." "Stop bothering me. I need to work." "Shut up, Dad is concentrating on driving right now." "Eat your breakfast in the car! We'll be late!" "Wait until you're an adult." "I can't tell you. You don't understand." "NEVER TALK ABOUT THAT AROUND HIM." "Don't say that!" I can hear it echoing in my mind. I think I'm really going on insane.
And also, there's problems at home. A deal's already been made without me even getting to put my say in. And that could mean a dramatic change here. Now my future is unknown. Just for the sake of people I don't care about but my dad does. Nothing I can do, though. Nothing I could ever do.
I won't be surprised if you decide to quit reading this blog. Probably I'll be typing the usual stuff in the afternoon/evening. But I am tired of hiding what I really feel.
Well, not quite. Anyhow. I think I should've divided my last post into two different posts. It was way too long. D:
Oh, and I just took a quiz because I saw an advertisement and was a bit curious.

Not a Vampire
You are just a plain old human being, but you may be a vampire groupie or guardian or whatever you prefer to be called. You lack fangs and the powers of a vampire, but at least you can still kill them if you train and learn their weaknesses. The vampire life is just not for you.

It is hard to believe I am at home and it is now 2009. It might take a while for me to get used to the passage of time all over again.
I feel really exhausted from riding airplanes so long. This time we rode with ANA (Air Japan) again since they have vanilla ice cream. :p It's Häagen-Dazs and it comes in a little carton. (It's really expensive if you buy it at Shanghai's Pudong Airport, though. Don't buy it there, it's a rip-off. Better deal just to buy some ice cream from Coldstone's.)
We had to go to Tokyo Narita Airport first, though, because ANA only flies to and from Japan. We waited for a few hours for the plane from Tokyo to California. Actually, I got a free upgrade to business class on the Shanghai-Tokyo flight. (That was pretty lucky since it's rare to get a free upgrade. But it turns out they must've run out of seats in the Economy class or something.)
Since we had a lot of free time at the Tokyo airport, we looked at the shops. My dad wanted to buy some mochi for his friend so we went to this place called FaSoLa. (It was all over the airport o_O) Then I bought some Pocky and caramel candy. I got upset when my dad bought the red bean flavored candies. I don't like those but my dad says he needs to give something to his friends and coworkers anyhow.
I was watching Shugo Chara Doki! moments ago since I needed to catch up on missed episodes. I realized that I'd heard the ending song (Lotta Love Lotta Love, I think it was called) multiple times while in Japan. (At least, I say Buono, the group who sang it, performing it on TV) And once I saw the end of a Shugo Chara Doki episode, but it doesn't really matter because I can't understand enough Japanese to not need subtitles yet. XD
My dad went out to buy a few things. We are very low on groceries since we were gone so long. He bought milk...and a battery. But I don't know what the battery is for. D:
It's way too quiet around here, even though there is the sound of my typing and the sound of the anime I'm watching (Asatte no Houkou). I miss seeing my mom, even though she's usually mean to me. (Though she probably has good intentions. Or not.) At the airport I kept looking for her, thinking she was just taking a bathroom break, but it's not true, after all, since she's not here.
Oh yeah, though this is not in chronological order, I fell asleep soon after I came home. I was really tired since I was watching a movie on the plane. (It's a Japanese movie called Dear My Cosmo. It's mostly about a girl and her horse, whose vision is failing.) I woke up around five...By then the sun was pretty far down. I tried to get back to sleep but I gave up and got back up again.

All those Ss must make me sound like a snake. Or the Sidney guy in the Neopets Deserted Fairground. Think of it whichever way you like.
I am relieved to be able to get on the Internet. I have been attempting to the get the Winter Site Theme on Neopets, which means I need to get on the Internet everyday. But I have apparently missed yesterday's, which makes me sad. :( So I guess I am probably not going to get it this year after all. Oh well. I suppose life does not revolve around the Advent Calendar.
I must talk a bit about Japan. It is interesting since everyone speaks Japanese (but they can understand a little English because they have to learn it in school). It is actually quite dry and cold at this time of year. My skin is so terrible looking. Earlier it was all reddish and my mom was panicking since it seemed like I had allergies. It's better now, but my skin is still extremely dry.
The toilets are the scariest thing here in Japan. They have two types of creepy toilets. 1) The ground toilets. 2) The complicated toilets. The ground ones are scarier since you have to squat to use them. So basically you never "sit down" when you're using them. And then the complicated toilets... They have buttons next to them. Apparently you can do things like "spray" and "bidet". And some toilets even have a button for playing "flushing sounds". Really, really weird. The toilet seats are warm, too. Must be a waste of energy.
At first, the highways also freaked me out. That's because in Japan, you have to drive on the left side of the rode, not the right. And since we're going with a tour a group (called Signet Tours), we have to ride in a tour shuttle, so it feels like you're going to fall off the road or hit the walls.
That reminds me, I should mention my tour guide. Her name is Namiki Mariko (so we call her Mariko). She actually was born in Taiwan, but moved to Japan when she was older. So she knows both Chinese and Japanese. Her voice is scratchy. Actually, I hear she caught a cold, that's why. (She is a chatterbox, so she has to drink green tea to soothe her throat.) She said she hates it when people call her "Monica" instead of Mariko. She gives us all sorts of strange papers, such as maps and instructions and information, about Japan.
So far during our tour we've visited several temples. Before you go in the temple, you have to put water on your hands using these things that look like a cross between a stick and a measuring cup. (That reminds me, beware of Japanese restrooms because sometimes they don't have paper towels, dryers, or hand soap) Then you can go inside the temple. A lot of people throw money into this vent/box thing and make a wish. Apparently this is how temples get enough money. (Besides vending machines, of course.)
Which leads me to say, there are few water fountains to be found in Japan. Since there are plenty of vending machines, if you want a drink, just use those. I suggest getting hot cocoa if the machine has it. (But I guess I just like hot cocoa, because I don't drink coffee or tea.)
Anyhow, back to the tour...We've also been to this big Buddha statue. The statue's eyes are closed and he seems very weathered. (Kind of like the Statue of Liberty.) If you look at him from the side he seems to have a bent back, like an old man. And he has a strange expression (Although I think he is meant to be praying?). I think that's because people keep burning incense near him and taking pictures of him, so he is tired of it after all these years.
We've also been to Mount Fuji. We didn't actually get to go on the mountain but we had some opportunities to snap photos of it. Basically it is a big mountain with snow dumped on the top. It's hard to believe it's a volcano (unless you look at the weird steamy stuff on a nearby mountain). There is a lake next to Mount Fuji and it is very beautiful. We rode a river cruise on it. Two people, dressed up as Santa Claus and a pirate, took pictures with people if they paid.
Since I'm such a glutton, I shall mention food. So far I have eaten at various hotel restaurants, plus a "soba house". For today's lunch we ate at Hakone Hotel's buffet...
- Two white rolls (You are supposed to put sauce, vegetables, etc. inside it but I eat it plain.)
- Noodles (I guess you would consider it spaghetti)
- Fried potatoes (These are salty and rather filling so don't get too much)
- Croissants
- Strawberries (They are really cute!)
- Strawberry Mousse (This counts as dessert. Comes in long thin cup or shorter fatter cup)
- Fruit sherbet and vanilla ice cream combined (It's like strawberry ice cream! It is very good, you should try it.)
Oh, and I shall talk about the hotels we have visited so far. Hehehehe.
- Hilton Narita (Near the airport. Looks fancy although it is actually pretty old, but has been remodeled. Does not have scary toilet.)
- Hotel New Akao (Not actually new, it is 35 years old. XD Has hot springs and view of ocean. You can wear their sandals and kimonos, and sleep on tatami mat. Has a scary toilet. Small rooms.)
- Hakone Hotel (We didn't get to stay the night here, just ate. Very pretty. Has nice shiny bathroom for visitors. Apparently has hot springs too. You can get married here.)
- Keio Plaza Hotel (Fancy place. I hear it is expensive. Has scary toilet. But not bad anyhow.)
Maybe I had better stop writing...Well, hope everyone has a good Christmas and New Year's. :) Over here we have a 17 hour time difference so it's the evening of December 25.

One of my friends has a group (kind of like a club, basically) on a website, which she runs along with her sister. They want me to make graphics for the group, but I would have to make three "samples" every month. I like making graphics, but I don't have that much free time...But I don't want to make them upset by refusing because my schedule isn't free enough. So I don't know whether I should go for it, or just sacrifice some of what is important to me to do this. :(
Anyhow, I only wrote part of this last night, even though I was planning to write all of it. This is because I kicked something (one of the cords, maybe?) under the computer and then it all restarted! I was so mad because I lost all of what I wrote and I can't remember it...I should've saved a draft before I kicked it. Oh well.
Even though Wednesday is late start day, I still kept waking up on and off during the night...And then eventually it was 8:00 am and I couldn't sleep anymore. This just stinks...Well, at least I get some time in the morning to read manga online. I couldn't find it in the library, which is really frustrating. (It's much more convenient to carry a book around than a laptop around... And then you would need Internet access 24/7!)
Eating cheesecake for breakfast is nice, except the raspberry cheesecake is starting to taste odd. Then I drank some milk, which tastes really nasty with cheesecake! Don't try it unless you like weird flavors!
That kind of brings back a childhood memory... When I was younger, I didn't like going to restaurants, since I didn't like to eat back then, so I just made some concoctions. You know how you usually get a water glass at a restaurant? I would put all sorts of things. Sugar packets, vegetables, rice, and so on. I tried to get my parents to drink it, but they refused.
It's been raining a bit recently, so we end up watching a sports movie in the gym rather than doing a lot of exercise in PE. I don't really mind the movie except for the fact they always have to play things in slow motion a few times! And the volume was way too loud because I was sitting close to the TV. I think I've gotten deaf from it, so I just try to cover my ears to lessen the sound.
My mom found a big teddy bear stashed away somewhere. On the tag, it said it was a Little Brown Bear and the profits were being donated to some non-profit organization. Apparently it was from Bloomingdales so my parents suspect it costs a lot. My mom also found a Yves Saint Laurent bag someone gave her. She was planning to give it away because she didn't use it, but then she looked at some YSL stuff on the Internet and noticed it was really expensive! The bag was probably worth at least a couple hundred bucks! That was a disturbing find.

I keep wondering if I've inherited it. (Seeing as I am more like my dad than my mom...) I accidentally dropped some of the salmon from my lunch on the ground. I didn't want to eat it, so my dad suggested we feed it to the fish. That would be cannibalism, technically, and my mom looked shocked (despite not liking animals much, I don't think she'd want to have any murders happening in our house). Not only that, but my dad tends to burst into song or say a cheesy phrase a lot. Even I'm doing it now. (My dad only knows older songs - he even said "I can't hold a conversation with young people anymore!" - so I just learn old-timer songs from him. My mom says it's because he's an old man, anyhow.) And I am a pretty creepy person myself, seeing as I think babies are ugly and think criminals should all be killed.
We're going to buy giftcards for my teachers today, plus maybe a Christmas tree if we can find one we like. I won't be around for Christmas (heads-up, I may or may not put entries into this blog while I'm on vacation. I'll be gone practically from Christmas to New Years) but I still want to have a tree. Last year we had a real live tree and it didn't look dead for a long time. But I still miss seeing a tree in that spot, next to the keyboard. (We have an old keyboard, plus a baby grand piano.)
This is kind of unrelated, but this morning, I took a look at our front yawn. You see, we live basically at the very "beginning" of our street. So all cars going into or out of our street will pass by our house. This also means we have a lot of unwelcome things happening to our lawn (we don't have a fence). There are sometimes dogs pooping on the lawn, or moles/gophers/other outdoor riffraff digging up the grass... And today we even found a food wrapper on our lawn. I was pretty insulted that my house is now considered a trash dump. I suppose people are awfully lazy, even in our cool (but rather unknown, since it takes a while to find it on a California map) town. Sigh.

Why do people count seconds like that? Is it supposed to take a whole second to say that? Because if someone has pronunciation problems or is a slow talker, they would count slower, but if someone talks so fast their words get jumbled together, they would be unfairly counting seconds. (Like if you're timing something, or playing hide and seek, or whatever.) But maybe it's not very important seeing as some people have watches they can use to time things, and I'm fussing over nothing. (Or it could save all our lives, and I would be saying "I told you so" for decades.)
My dad is always watching television...In the evenings, sometimes he watches the Daily Show and the Colbert Report. (I don't know if you know those shows. I think they are popular with people who are not my age.) They tend to say rude things on those shows, like on the Colbert Report, Colbert was saying "Yet another of NASA's animal torture projects" after reporting that "a spider escaped from its cage when NASA was trying to see if a spider could make a web in 0 gravity". I asked my dad if the people who are talked about in these shows are offended. My dad nodded, then shook his head. Now I'm really confused. XD
I've had a lot of indigestion lately. Either I'm eating too fast (Which would cause gas in your stomach, according to my mom. Not always a reliable source...) or I just have a weak stomach, or something else is going on. Well, I have no idea, so I'm just trying to ignore it, or wait for a brilliant idea to hit me. :o
One of my friends asked me to do her math homework yesterday. I asked her why. She said, "I'm lazy, and you're smart." I just replied, "That's not a very good excuse." Though I usually wouldn't admit it, a lot of people think I'm smart (either they know me, and they know that, and they like to bother me about it; or they don't know me, and are just guessing), and it really gets on my nerves. It almost makes me want to pretend I'm 'unintelligent', just so I shall have some peace about it.
